OUR TRUE POSITION

Paul speaks of a mystery.
We are 'in Christ' and 'seated with Him in the heavenlies.'

He talks of our lives being hidden with Christ in God. Perhaps a rainbow-coloured bubble with Christ and I inside. Rainbows talk of promises and what greater promise than that. Forever at home in Him, without fear of destruction.

GOD'S BUILDING

Living stones tend to crack human institutions. Dead ones get crushed.

GOD'S TORTOISES

With Christ in your heart you will always have a roof over your head.

THE WORD OF GOD

Early on in the time of the Acts of the Apostles, preaching the Word became synonymous with preaching Christ.

It was as witnesses of His resurrection and ascension to the throne of His Father that they spoke. He had commissioned them to make disciples, teaching all He had commanded. His last conversations were about the affairs of the Kingdom. After releasing them from prison, the angel instructed them to tell of a new order of living in Jesus.

All of this was taken up into the phrase, the Word of God. The Word of God is not the Bible. It is Jesus, the King and Saviour of the world, God's anointed Messiah Son, the only true Word of God. Without Him it is not the Word of God.

A MIXED HARVEST

When the Church is full of tares the wheat tends to gather in the fields.

MESSENGERS FROM HEAVEN

If you cannot hear the glad message and song of the angels you will never find Jesus.

'WRECTHED MAN' OF ROMANS 7

In life's battle we are our own worst enemy. Above all, Jesus needs to save us from ourselves. A new life in Him is merely the start of our journey into His image.

No wonder He says we must pick up our cross daily and follow Him.

ENTITLEMENT

Christ dwelling in us ensures us of an eternal dwelling in God's home.

Like a tortoise, we carry the shelter of our eternal home with us.

THE CHURCH, GOD'S CITADEL IN ENEMY TERRITORY

The Church may never become a Spa Resort where we pamper the flesh.

It should be a place where we are energised for the battle to procure the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

OBSERVERS OF LIFE

Many Christians like to stand on the banks of life, keeping their feet dry.
They have no heart to step into troubled waters.
